Chercheur CDD (H/F) « Mesures SPM de magnéto-transport sur des nano-objets fonctionnalisés »
Missions
Development and implementation of nano-fabrication and local probe microscopy techniques to study the grafting, transport and magnetoresistance properties of nano-objects (NOs) functionalized by organic monolayers.
Two families of molecules forming SAMs (self assembled monolayers) will be compared: single bonded (typically alkyl chains) and double bonded (typically phenyl groups) molecules with delocalized orbitals.
Activities
The candidate will be in charge of: (i) characterization by local probe microscopy (STM-AFM), mainly under ultra-high vacuum (UHV) for magneto-transport measurements; (ii) fabrication of Co NOs under vacuum and by standard clean room lithography processes (dimensions smaller than 50 nm)); (iii) and functionalization of NOs by SAM. The person will be hired by IEMN and will interact with the whole project team for the different activities (SPM, chemistry, magneto-transport and modeling).

Work Context
The MAGMA project (Magneto-transport in nano-objects functionalized by self-assembled molecules) funded by the Hauts-de-France Region over the period 2023-2024, aims at studying the magneto-transport properties of ferromagnetic nano-objects (NOs) functionalized by self-assembled monolayers (SAMs). The candidate (M/F) will work in collaboration with the NCM (Nanosctructures and Molecular Components) group and the Multi-Physics Characterization Platform.
